​In this satirical artwork titled “Haine, laine, porc et porcelaine” (Hate, Wool, Pork, and Porcelain), the artist delivers a sharp social critique focused on contemporary economic and moral decline, which becomes particularly exacerbated as celebrations like Eid approach. In the foreground, an imposing set of dentures inscribed with the word "Vanity" rests on a plate, symbolizing superficial devotion to appearance and conspicuous consumption. The piece highlights the harsh reality of today’s world: outrageous speculation and skyrocketing prices, illustrated by the contrast between the Eid lamb—a symbol of purity and a spiritual ideal that has become nearly unattainable—and the pigs in the background, evoking base instincts or questionable profits. The canvas reflects a profound moral dilemma: the path to honest livelihood (Halal) has become increasingly difficult and fraught with obstacles, while easy but corrupted money (Haram) feels readily available. Faced with this reality, the artwork questions our individual and collective choices. The background of azulejo porcelain, rigid and geometric, recalls the societal framework witnessing these shifts, caught between the hatred of speculators and the sacrifice of tradition, inviting viewers to deeply reflect on what we choose to nurture within ourselves
